- SOLD - Vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Ref. 1500 – Blue Tiffany & Co. Sigma Dial – Calibre 1570 – 1964 - SOLD -
Up for sale is my vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date ref. 1500, an understated classic from the golden era of Rolex watchmaking. Produced during the 1970s, the ref. 1500 embodies everything collectors appreciate about vintage Rolex—clean proportions, exceptional build quality, and timeless design.
This example features a stunning sunburst blue Sigma dial, one of the most desirable dial configurations for the reference. Depending on the light, the dial shifts from deep navy to vibrant royal blue, beautifully complemented by the applied baton hour markers and matching hands. The discreet Sigma (σ T σ) markings at the bottom of the dial denote the use of solid gold hour markers and hands, a subtle detail highly prized by collectors.
Presented on a blue leather strap, the watch has an elegant, versatile appearance that transitions effortlessly from casual to formal wear.

Why Collectors Love the Rolex 1500
The Oyster Perpetual Date ref. 1500 is often considered one of the best-kept secrets in vintage Rolex collecting. Sharing the legendary Calibre 1570 movement with larger Rolex sports models, it delivers exceptional reliability and chronometer-certified accuracy in a refined, wearable package.
Blue Sigma dial examples are especially sought after, offering a combination of rarity, elegance, and vintage charm that sets them apart from more common silver or black dial variants. With its classic 34mm Oyster case and timeless proportions, the 1500 has become increasingly popular among collectors seeking authentic vintage Rolex without the premium attached to sports references.
A beautifully preserved vintage Rolex with timeless style, everyday wearability, and enduring collector appeal.
Why Collectors Love Tiffany-Signed Rolexes
For decades, Rolex supplied watches to a select number of prestigious retailers, who were authorised to add their name to the dial before sale. Among these, Tiffany & Co. is by far one of the most recognised and desirable.
Original Tiffany-signed Rolex watches are considerably rarer than their standard counterparts and have become some of the most sought-after examples in the vintage market. Their combination of Rolex quality and Tiffany provenance has made them favourites among collectors, with authentic examples often commanding a substantial premium.
Combined with the desirable blue Sigma dial and legendary Calibre 1570 movement, this reference 1500 represents an increasingly scarce opportunity to acquire a distinctive and highly collectible vintage Rolex.
Built by time. Worn with character.
